Video guestbook

Some memories don’t fit in a photo.

With the video guestbook, your guests leave personal messages right in SnapParty. No account, no extra app, no camera set up that someone has to sit down in front of.

SnapParty for your party

  • No app
  • Right on your own phone
  • Also as a photo or text

Why a video

A photo captures the moment. A video captures the voice too.

A paper guestbook collects handwriting. A digital one collects texts. Both record that someone was there.

A video records HOW someone was there: the voice, the laughter, the pause before the last sentence. Those are exactly the moments you can watch again years later.

Three examples

What video messages can look like.

Three messages from real parties. They play one after another; you can switch the sound on below.

  • WeddingVideo greeting to the couple
  • BirthdayGreeting for a milestone birthday
  • ChristeningA personal message

How it works

Four steps, no preparation for the guests.

  1. Scan the QR code

Your guests open SnapParty in the browser — no installation.

  2. Open the guestbook

The guestbook is in the same access as the photo tasks.

  3. Record a message

A short video right on their own phone. Anyone who would rather write or leave a photo can do that too.

  4. Watch after the party

Afterwards all the messages are together — with the photos of the party.

Three kinds of guestbook

What sets the three kinds apart.

Classic

  • handwriting on paper
  • lies out in one place
  • for leafing through

Digital

  • typed entries
  • from anywhere at the party
  • easy to collect

Video

  • voice, laughter, pauses
  • recorded on your own phone
  • to watch again

Frequently asked questions

About the video guestbook.

Do guests need an app for the video?

No. Recording works in the browser with the camera of their own phone, in the same access as the photo tasks.

How long can a message be?

Short messages work best — a few sentences. Around thirty seconds is the limit; if a video is longer, SnapParty says so when uploading and gives the number.

Can guests write instead of speaking?

Yes. Text, photo and video sit side by side. Not all your guests want to film themselves, and that shouldn’t keep anyone out of the guestbook.

Who sees the video messages?

They belong to the party and are visible in that party’s access. After the party you can watch them together.
